American Bullriding Association’s Final Results

American Bullriding Association’s Final Results

The 2005 Season ended with a roar in Jackson ,TN last Sept. 23 and 24 as riders and bulls challenged one another for the titles. Ronnie Maness from Henderson,TN was crowned the ABA World Champion. I recently saw Ronnie ride at a PBR Enterprise event and he is good..He was way ahead in points as the season came to a close so he could afford to buck off one or two at the Finals. On Friday night he scored 79 points aboard 22 Waterboy in the long go but bucked off of 763 Willie of CW Ranch in the short go. On Saturday Ronnie rode 121 Rudy Red of Rafter C Rodeo Company but bucked off of-32 Full House of Circle 13 Rodeo Company. Ronnie still held onto the lead for the World and walked away the ABA’s first World Champion.

It was a great weekend for Shawn Turner of Henning, TN. He managed to cover all four of his bulls to win the ABA’s Finals Championship. On Friday Shawn rode M17 of CW (Craig Whitman) Ranch for 69 points in the first round. He scored 81 on Rafter C’s (Guy Cox) 10 Spin To Win in the short go to lead the pack with 150 points going into Saturday’s contest. On Saturday he scored 72 on Circle 13”s(Scott Littrell) L J Lockjaw and scored 84 in the short go aboard Rafter C’s 84 Krazy Kat for a total of 156 points on Saturday. His 306 points gave him the event title and lifted him up to second place in the end of year standings.

Matt Littrell who is as outstanding a bullfighter as he is a rider scored 75 on 763 Willie of the CW Ranch but bucked off of CW’s 20 Spot. Matt who was a pretty consistent top rider all season ended up in third place in the standings.

Fourth place finisher was Matthew White of Cedar Grove, TN who scored 75 aboard Rafter C’s 121 Rudy Red in the long go on Friday but bucked off of Circle 13’s TK3 Denmark Biggs who was the runner up bull for Bucking Bull of the Year.

Charlotte’s Tye Allen, another rider I met at the Enterprise event, scored 71 aboard Circle 13’s 2% Milk but bucked off of Circle 13’s -32 Full House in the short go. Tye was 8th in the standings and brother Trey was ninth.

Fifth place finisher was Paris ,TN.’s Cody Nance who scored 71 on Circle 13’s 014 Copenhagen Drifter in Saturday’s long go but bucked off of Rafter C’s 10 Spin To Win. Billy Summers of Jackson,TN was sixth . He scored 70 on Rafter C’s 3 Intimidator but bucked off of CW’s 20 Spot. Blayne Hayse of Millington,TN. was seventh in the standings and Brandon Carter was ninth.

Johnny Mitchell of Jackson,TN. scored 69 on Circle 13’s +19 Toad Frog in the long go but bucked off ofRafter C’s 84 Krazy Kat in the short go. Perryville, Mo.’s Matt Cissell scored 70 on Rafter C’s 3 Intimidator and made a great ride aboard Circle 13’sTK3 Denmark Biggs for 78 points in the short go.

For readers who are used to PBR or CBR scores I have to tell you these judges were very stingy with their points. Some of these rides would have been much higher in those associations.
