Report From Brittany Back- JR Rodeo National Finals Trip

Kentucky is not known as a rodeo state.  However, that did not discourage the contestants of the KY Wrangler Division as they packed up and headed to Gallup, NM for a week of National Finals action and fun.  When they where not rodeoing the Kentucky parents had planned some fun activities such as tie dying shirts, roasting marshmallows and making posters for the riders.
When the action started the focus quickly turned to rodeo.  The stands became packed with Kentucky families ranging from a 2 week old baby to grandparents. Kentucky was there in full force cheering on the contestants.
The state may have not finished number one in the standings but everyone learned a lot and will continue to use what they learned to improve in future years.
As the Kentucky finalists left Gallup they where determined to put the obstacles behind them and  move on to a new season.  Some will remain in the JR Division while others move on to High School Rodeo.  As they move on they will make new friends, continue to support old ones and learn many new things.  However, most importantly they know when they look in the stands whether they are having the worse rodeo of their life or the best their family and friends will be up there cheering for them.
