Josh Peters Ideas About The Controversial Hooking The Loop Rule
Just read Josh Peters' latest entry on his Fried Twinkies Blogg. Once again (this time by Jim Bob Custer) Jody Newberry was DQ'd for intentionally hooking the bull rope loop with his spur.Hmmm,Jody did not have a loop with the new style rope he's using! Well,Josh has a good solution for the PBR Board meeting this week in KC.He suggested that the word intentional be taken out as it automatically puts riders on the defensive. He also brought out the fact that the two most controversial calls against Jody were called way after Jody excited the chute. This should be called immediately as its just like the spur out rule. There is no disqualification if the rope gets hooked during the ride .Cody Lambert waited until 6 seconds into the ride at the 2005 Finals while Jim Bob waited until three seconds into the ride.Seems to me maybe both were waiting to see if Jody would buck off and the call would be immaterial then.Something needs fixing this weekend.Fans are getting even more disgruntled that the riders. Maybe we need a "coach's challenge" like in football but make it a rider's challenge and use the tapes as an instant replay for all the judges to study.Something needs to be done and so far the best idea has come from Josh!

I also agree with Josh. If they can call it when a rider slaps a bull that fast then they can call it just as fast when they have thier spurs hooked.
You have that right. No reason for a delay in the call.I also did not like Jim Bob Custer's response about the call.
